Edward Francis is a senior director with West Monroe Partners, based in Chicago, and leader of the firm’s services and solutions focused on clients in the life sciences industry. Ed is a seasoned healthcare and life sciences management consulting executive with a proven track record for producing critical and innovative thinking, delivering complex transformation projects, managing efficient business operations, and serving as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives. He has worked with life sciences and healthcare companies of all sizes, and he possesses a noteworthy range and depth across key domains of life sciences analytics and strategy. His extensive cognitive and advanced analytics experience spans the disciplines most relevant to today’s life sciences organizations: real world evidence and patient similarity, physician targeting, clinical trial matching, population health, cognitive pharmacovigilance, cognitive forecasting (financial, supply chain, and business), supply chain network strategy, cognitive issue discovery and resolution, conversation to text, and language concept interpretation. He is also an accomplished strategic advisor with expertise in areas such as enterprise cost transformation, connected health programs, operating model design and next-generation outsourcing, and supply chain strategy and operations. Prior to West Monroe Partners Ed was with IBM Global Business Services and Accenture. In addition to providing practice leadership, he worked extensively with clients to execute health programs, analytics programs, and systems integration and outsourcing initiatives. He also has extensive plant operations experience and served as a supply officer in the US Navy. Ed earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the US Naval Academy, a Master of Business Administration degree from Syracuse University, and a Master of Manufacturing Engineering degree from Northwestern University.
