Michael is president of Burling Bank and Burling Ventures, wholly-owned subsidiaries of Burling Bancorp, Inc. Michael has more than 20 years of banking experience focused in the areas of regulatory compliance, operations, marketing, client service and business development. As president of Burling Bank, he is responsible for overseeing bank operations, planning, policies, and practices, as well as managing relationships with governmental agencies, business partners, civic organizations, charities and media. Michael was previously an independent commodity futures trader on the Chicago Board of Trade and served as assistant White House press secretary to President George H.W. Bush. Michael has a bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a board member of the Chicago Botanic Garden, George Bush Presidential Library Advisory Council, and Pepperdine University Business Advisory Council.
