Richard Yang serves as VP of Credit and Operations at Sixup responsible for all corporate functions encompassing core risk management areas in the pillars of credit, operations, compliance, legal, financial, reputation and market. Having managed over US$250 billion in balances, Richard is an international banking veteran with experience in startups and the alternative lending marketplace. At his third FinTech startup, Sixup is an education finance marketplace for high-achieving, low-income students who get into, but cannot afford, selective 4-year colleges. Prior to joining Sixup, Richard was the Chief Risk Officer and founding member at Earnest (another student loan lender bought by Navient). He has held executive roles at traditional financial institutions as Chief Risk Officer at Barclays (responsible for Europe) and others at Fifth Third Bank, Sears, Macy’s, FICO, Experian, and Standard Chartered Bank. Richard has his MBA from Northwestern University and a BS from Indiana University.
