Ms. Ducich is senior vice president for public policy and government relations for Navient. She is responsible for the development and advancement of the company’s legislative and policy goals. Among the topics she has advocated for are streamlined repayment options to reduce complexity for borrowers and increase engagement, and easier methods to enroll in and recertify federal income-driven repayment programs. Before 2014, Ms. Ducich held a similar position at Sallie Mae. Ms. Ducich was one of the principal authors of Sallie Mae’s research on how American families save and pay for college. At Navient, she continues that leadership with its annual research on the financial health of young adults, Money Under 35. Prior to joining Sallie Mae, Ms. Ducich consulted on federal budget policy, was deputy budget director with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, a senior democratic staff member of the Senate Budget Committee, and a budget examiner with the Office of Management and Budget. Ms. Ducich received her Master’s in Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin and her B.A. with honors in Mathematics from Whitman College.
