Shane Ramsey is the Vice Chair of the Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Practice Group, where he helps lead 30 attorneys and spearhead the firm’s business-development initiatives. He focuses on committees of unsecured creditors, indenture trustees, secured creditors, unsecured creditors, bondholders, noteholders, liquidation trustees, plan administrators, disbursing agents, and other entities in bankruptcy reorganizations, liquidation proceedings, and bankruptcy-related litigation. He also handles complex civil litigation matters in both state and federal courts in alternative dispute resolution settings, including arbitration and mediation.
Mr. Ramsey is a regular lecturer and author on a wide-array of bankruptcy and financial restructuring topics. Mr. Ramsey’s skills have been recognized by his peers and other members of the legal community. In 2011, Shane was selected as one of the top 30 nominees nationwide to attend the 2011 National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges Next Generation Program for up-and-coming bankruptcy attorneys being recognized for their professional accomplishments to date. In 2017, he was selected by the ABI as a “40 under 40,” which recognizes 40 insolvency professionals under the age of 40 nationwide for their accomplishments and leadership in their communities.
